About Us

House of Mori is a thoughtfully curated space that seamlessly brings together the warmth of a café, the vibrancy of a restaurant, and the versatility of an event venue—creating a destination where experiences unfold naturally. While our doors opened in July 2024, the story of House of Mori began long before, rooted in the Mori family’s vision of nurturing a green oasis in the heart of the city. Inspired by a deep love for music, food, and nature, House of Mori is a place where soulful melodies set the mood, thoughtfully crafted cuisine delights the senses, and heartfelt hospitality makes every guest feel at home.
Lush greenery and organic design elements reflect our commitment to creating an environment where people and plants thrive together. The name Mori carries layered meaning. In Japanese kanji, Mori translates to “forest,” an homage to Silvassa—our hometown, known for its dense forests and verdant landscapes. At the same time, it honors the family’s ancestral roots in the Mori Rajput clan of Chittorgarh, grounding House of Mori in a legacy of warmth, community, and stewardship of nature.
Nestled within House of Mori lies Café HOM, a tribute to the matriarch of the Mori family, Ramaba Mohansinh Parmar. A formidable visionary, she stewarded 300 acres of land, founded Surendra Tiles—the first manufacturing industry in Dadra & Nagar Haveli—and raised five children as a single mother. The design of Café HOM reflects her enduring legacy, with hand-painted tiles, finely crafted wooden furnishings, and natural elements of brick, bamboo, and wood—subtle yet meaningful expressions of the empire she built and her deep pride in Indian craftsmanship.
At its core, House of Mori is more than a space—it is a celebration of heritage, sustainability, and human connection, brought to life through memorable experiences and meaningful moments.
